Contortion is a more accelerated flexibility class than Extreme Stretch. The warm-up moves faster and it is assumed that skills such as tendus, battements, deep lunges and releves are familiar.

Students should be comfortable holding forearm stands for a minute (with a spotter) and handstands for at least 30 seconds (against the wall).

Students should also have a good understanding of hip placement in splits, and be comfortable with holds in static positions and kicking in dynamic drills.

Most students are either able or close to dropping back to a bridge from standing. Class works more advanced back bending skills such as chest stand, full wheel and standing balances such as foot to head.
