Arturo comes from four generations of elite trapeze artists and is considered to have been among the very best flying performers in the world. He toured with his own team, the Flying Condors, the Padilla International Circus (family owned), Circus Circus in Las Vegas, Tarzan Zerbini Circus and many others. For three consecutive years (2002-4) he was the only man in the US, Mexico and Europe, consistently performing the quadruple somersault.

From FIGHT OR FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT, Brett has Rigged, designed and choreographed Aerial and Flying Effects for stunts, circus and aerial productions and individual performers and troupes of all sizes. He has worked with Cirkus Smirkus, the Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival, Flying FX, to name a few, and is an NECCA approved Aerial Rigger. Brett has just completed 5 years as a Rigger with Cirque Du Soliel, most recently on the rigging team with the “O” and “IRIS” productions.

Circus, that most international of languages, doesn’t so much transcend borders and boundaries as render them meaningless: What power does a line on a map have over someone flying through the air with the greatest of ease?

No surprise, then, that Circus Warehouse regularly welcomes acrobats and aerialists from around the world to train with our international roster of world-famous instructors, guest instructors and visiting pros.

Mark Gibson, Managing Director of Aerial Edge, UK, and his performance partner, Vee, recently completed a three-month “training trip” to NYC and Circus Warehouse and wrote about it on Aerial Edge’s website.

“I cannot do the teachers and students at the Warehouse justice for their warmness, openness and amazing levels of ability…” Mark says, in his account of that trip.

One-half of the sublime Venizelos Sisters contortion team, Emily (alongside sister Anne) regularly leaves audiences agog with her own extraordinary flexibility, physical prowess and artistry.

Now she’s bringing her knowledge of body — her techniques for and approach to stretching — to the bendy public, and anyone looking to take his or her own flexibility to the next level and beyond.

NYC was all aboard the USS Intrepid for this year’s Intrepid Museum Kid’s Week. Paris the Hip-Hop Juggler was in the house(boat)! Our own Michelle Arvin and Sonja Harpstead sky-mingled while dynamic KENiMATTix duo Ken Berkeley and Matthew Cusick brought just the right balance to the Kid’s Week stage.

Thousands of visitors attended and we had a wonderful time with them!

Catch us in the act Saturday and Sunday, March 2nd and 3rd, when our next edition of the Warehouse Pro Program showcase Caught in the Act goes up.

Shows feature great performances of “under construction” acts by our Pro Program students as well as guest artist appearances by some of the today’s leading circus performers (and Warehouse instructors).

Doors open at 7:30 pm, shows start at 8:00 pm.

If it’s February 16-24, it’s Kid’s Week at the Intrepid Museum, and Circus Warehouse will be there for all the fun and games.

Roving Warehouse performers will rove each day from 11 – 3pm. And we’re putting on balancing act performances Saturday and Sunday, the 16th and 7th. (Sunday’s performance is set for 2 pm, but please, check back here for details, which we’ll share as soon as we know them.)

The whole family will enjoy Kid’s Week, with hands-on activities, performances, games, cool demonstrations and more.

There’ll be great prizes and giveaways including the chance to win a free week at Camp Intrepid, tickets to an Operation Slumber overnight and a one-year family membership.

And of course you’ll get a chance to catch Warehouse performers doing what they do best!
