Suzi Winson, Gino Farfan and Michelle Arvin’s Circus Warehouse is New York City’s premier circus training facility.

Walfer Guerrero’s recent Highwire Workshop at Circus Warehouse marked the first time I ever walked on a wire. I wasn’t all that nervous at the outset, seeing the wire we would be walking was only two feet off the floor.

Circus Warehouse’s Suzi Winson and Matthew Valenti made the opening of “Notorious and Notable: 20th Century Women of Style” at the Museum of the City of New York and wound up getting a plug for Circus Warehouse out of it! Who knew being fashionable was so good for the circus? (Suzi and Matthew, perhaps?)

Get pumped, people! Beginning next Monday, November 15th, we’re adding a three new, killer classes to the Circus Warehouse Adult Recreational Schedule: Straps & Ropes, Chinese Pole and Tumbling.

If it’s Winter in Long Island City, it’s time for another “Caught in the Act.” And—YEAH—it’s winter!

Circus Warehouse’s Winter edition of “Caught in the Act,” our Intensive Program student show, takes place at the Warehouse, Saturday, February 26th and Sunday, February 27th at 8:00 p.m.

Circus Warehouse faculty Summer Lacy, Sonja Harpstead, and Michelle Arvin performed at Gotham Hall recently as surprise entertainment for a wedding reception. The lucky guests were enthralled by their own private circus!

Guests of the Warehouse, David Durante and his own team of Olympians are now en route to the Venice Biennale to perform in GLORIA, an Allora & Calzadilla exhibition, and there was a wonderful article about them “War Machines (With Gymnasts)” in last weekend’s NYTimes.

Starting July 6th, Dance Trapeze class returns to the Circus Warehouse schedule. Taught by Summer Lacy, the class will work on building technique between ground and air. Dance trapeze is lower and lighter than circus trapeze, on a single point, allowing for different transitions between the ground and the air, spinning, and swinging in lines [...]

Our weekend performance/residency July 30-31 in the Science of Circus show at the NY Hall of Science was a blast! The Warehouse rocked the joint: We sold over 1137 tickets for four shows in a space that only seats 250!

There will be no classes from August 29th – September 5th at the Warehouse as we take a Labor Day break.

The Warehouse will be open for workouts August 29th – September 1st from 12 – 8pm.

We’ll be resuming classes and normal working hours Tuesday, September 6th.

Thanks to all our recreational and Intensive Program students, instructors, staff and supporters for a great first Circus Warehouse year!

In case you missed it, Circus Warehouse was chosen by New York Magazine for inclusion in their 2011 Best of New York guide!

The Warehouse is adding two new open classes to the schedule starting in September. On Friday evenings from 7pm – 9pm, Adam Woolley will be teaching Intermediate Silks. Circus Warehouse is putting men (and women) into space again!

Maker Faire — on the Flushing Meadows Park grounds of the oh so “Space Age” 1964-65 New York World’s Fair — turned out to be the perfect venue for the Warehouse to both perform and let faire-goers try their hands (and arms and legs and torsos) on nouvelle cirque apparatus.

Seattle Acro and The Yoga Slackers Present: Intermediate / Advanced Acro- Transitions at the Warehouse, November 11th through the 13th. Seattle Acro’s Lux, Jason and Chelsey are among North America’s key innovators in the acrobatic arm of the Acro Yoga practice.

I was blown away by Circus Warehouse’s contribution to 100K Poets for Change: Aerial Text Experiments, a x,y and z-axis, warped circus tanztheater poetry “reading” if ever there was one.

Caught in the Act 9 was yet one more action packed show in our student showcase series!

We started off with award winning jugglers Michael Karas and Jen Slaw who gave our audience a glimpse of their new “throw-mantic” comedy, Perfect Catch.

The Warehouse is delighted to announce two upcoming workshops with famed aerialist, Brett Womack. Friday, Jan 13th from 3-6 pm, Brett will be teaching Aerial Rope, and on Sunday, Jan 15th from 5-8 pm, Aerial Fabric.
